Lecturer Denzy was born in Green Island Hanover and attended Green Island Secondary School. Like most Jamaican children he was in church every Sunday.
His first stint in the entertainment world came at the tender age of ten when unknown to his parents he entered a DJ competition. Lecturer was so small (short) that the organizers of the competition had to put him on a board box for the audience to see him. Lecturer won the competition and his mind was made up…. He was going to be an entertainer.
To Lecturer’s disappointment his parents and the church; because of his age, warned him to stay away from adult entertainment centers. Until he left school, Lecturer would sneak out of the home on occasions to be where Sound Systems were playing and perform he did; as they usually asked him to.
After graduating from school, Lecturer became the apprentice of Lloyd Burrell, a well-known contractor in the construction industry. Lecturer took great pride in his work and now he looks at several prominent buildings knowing that his knowledge of the laying of steel contributed to the completion of these buildings. While laying steel however, he would also perform in the evenings as DJ and sing alongside prominent entertainers whenever the opportunity presented itself.
His first album was completed in 2010 and when the album was released in September of 2012 Lecturer realized he had to make a decision. He walked away from the construction industry and started spending more time creating and recording original songs only. Over the years, Lecturer has developed the ability to DJ and sing original lyrics on demand.
Since 2012 Lecturer has recorded enough songs for his second album and is looking forward to a productive and successful time at Vivid Promotions with whom he recently signed a Production and Distribution contract.
